A checklist exposes unanswered questions. It cannot remove trading risk or certify a provider.
Start with platforms and account conditions
List the platform tools, available markets and account conditions you need to understand. Collect the current documentation and keep unavailable details visible. The directory is a starting point for research, not a recommendation to open an account.
Understand the exposure
Ask what the product actually is, how it can lose money and what obligations you would take on. Moneysmart explains that leverage can magnify forex losses. Your research should address the product’s mechanics as well as the available account and platform tools; neither question substitutes for the other.
Read the account as a whole
Collect the agreement, the fee schedule, the withdrawal policy and the complaint procedure. Note their versions and whether they refer to the same account type and document version. An attractive headline is easier to evaluate when the surrounding conditions are available in one research file.
Record which documents you could not locate. A missing answer should remain visible instead of disappearing inside a summary label.
Decide what needs further help
Review the unresolved items before taking any next step. Questions about legal eligibility, tax, suitability or personal circumstances may require a qualified professional. Moneysmart’s pre-investment guidance emphasizes understanding an investment and checking basic facts about who is offering it. Completion of this research exercise is not an instruction to invest.

A research aid. Completing this list does not certify a provider or remove financial risk.
